I got a better job. And this one doesn't entail lugging heavy cases of soda around and working crazy hours. I get to work regular hours, Monday through Friday. Glorious weekends off. Although to date, it seems like something out of a Delillo novel. I work for a company named "FNC," and when I asked what the letters stood for, I was told that they didn't mean anything; it is just the name of the company. My supervisor told me that it probably used to mean something, but no one knows what. Very strange. Any way, my job is to sit in front of a computer all day and look at real estate appraisal forms from banks. Each form is a little different, and our computer program tries to read the information and pull out the correct pieces, however our system sucks and it never pulls the right things. The fields are almost always off. So, I find the correct info and type it into the right field name. All day. Eight hours a day. Five days a week. Talk about meaningless and tedious. I am so going to write a novel. It'll be brilliant...naturally, I do rock after all.
