Gary Collins, Macy Gray, Jason Alexander ("George" from Seinfeld), Ray Romano and Doris Roberts (Everybody Loves Raymond) and Morgan Freeman. What do these people have in common? They are all people that I saw tonight. Yes, I saw all of these people in one night. How and Where, you ask? Well, given the devistation left by hurricane Katrina people have banned together to do relief efforts, raise money and such. Ole Miss hosted "Mississippi Rising," a benefit concert, today and Justin and I decided to go hang out behind the coliseum where all of the performers were exiting. We figured security would be so tight we couldn't see anything. It wasn't. As a matter of fact, security sucked. We were about 10 feet from Ray Ramono. How insanely cool is that? The actual benefit concert was right across the street from us, which is pretty cool to begin with, but I saw Morgan freaking Freeman. Yeah, I'm star-struck.
Also, I finally broke out the paints and got my painting groove on today. It felt so nice. I've missed it so. Tomorrow I'd like to go to Wal-Mart and get some more brushes and a few more canvases. Justin is quite the helpful little Muse. He was offering suggestions that were quite insightful. He could tell where I was going with my piece before I told him and when I implemented his suggestions it added just the right touch.
Finally, I am a hero today. For those of you who don't know, Justin is deathly afraid of spiders. Normally I'm not, but when they're the diameter of a soda can, I tend to be a bit freaked out. At any rate, Justin and I were chillin' in the living room, when a nasty huge black spider crawled out from behind the sofa, and started walking across our couch cushions. Justin went into convulsions and I screamed such a squeaky little girl scream (you know, like carl). But, I braved danger and smashed the little bastard with my flip flop, saving us both from a slow and horrible death. ...well maybe not death, but it
was creepy.
