Well, I had a nice post all prepared. A glorious little reflection on the magical evening that I spent with Emily, Chad and Justin, but I had more to add and didn't post it and the window got closed. I'll try to reconstruct as best I can...
I didn't actually get to visit with any of my old profs, but Emily and I did get together with our boys in toe, and we spent a glorious evening together. We met a Ruby Tuesday's and had a nice little dinner, and I saw the first snow of the season. It was magical; I made Justin walk outside with me to stand under the huge white flakes as they fell. *sigh* It brought me back to last year in B5, when the Kristin, Jenn, Stephy and I all rushed outside to bask in the first snow. But I digress. We parted after dinner, only to get home and realize that Emily called to invite us back to Chad's room for a visit. Justin and I headed back out toward Bridgewater. It was so strange to be back on campus. I could see our little apartment, so sad and dark. I wanted desperately to drop in for a quick visit, but alas those times are no more. We headed to Heritage where we had a good visit in Chad's room. And although I had never been in the boy's dorm rooms in my entire career at BC, it was strangely comforting to be within the walls of my wonderful little college. (even if it was in the form of a stinky boy dorm).
Thanksgiving was also great. I spent half of Thanksgiving Day with Justin and his family and the other half with mine. As always, his family made me feel welcome and loved. Rea (Justin's aunt) even moved Thanksgiving dinner up so that I could go to both dinners. The roads up in the Oakland area were bad (as always) so Justin and his dad drove me up to my house so that I wouldn't have to brave the arctic alone. I had a nice little visit with my family. Steph and I went to see Rent, which I thought was pretty good. And on Friday, dad, mom, steph and I went on a little shopping sprea in Morgantown for my Birthday. All in all, quite a fulfilling little visit home.
