Just a quick post before bed.
Justin and I went to the Beale Street Music Festival yesterday, where we spent way too much money, but had a blast. We saw quite a few bands, but the best by far was Three Days Grace. They put on a hell of a show. We wanted to see Jerry Lee Lewis, but the bastards made a switch in the performance times, so we missed him entirely.
Went to the library today and checked out "The Giver", so I'll probably read that this week. I'm also in the middle of "The Heaven of Mercury" by Brad Watson, one of the many, many Mississippi authors. I'm not a fan of southern lit, but I figure I should probably work to develop and appreciation for it while I'm down here.
Speaking of which, "they" are tearing down The Village Apartments in May of '07 to make way for the new law school. Bastards. So, if I want to do grad school here, we're going to have to find a place off campus which will be a pain in the ass as far as transportation, since we only have one car. Not sure what we're going to do then. Perhaps LSU or Alabama, though I'd really like to go to grad school here. I don't really want to live in Baton Rouge (it's grown by leaps and bounds with all the displaced hurricane victims, and I don't think I'd like a school as big as LSU anyway). I guess it depends on what we can work out with housing.
And I started listening to The Lord of the Rings Trilogy at work. It's taking a while to listen to it a work b/c its rather denser than the smut I usually listen to at work that takes absolutely no concentration. I have to keep rewinding b/c I'll be focused on my job...I know, what am I thinking, right? and I'll completely miss an entire paragraph. But I should be done with all three in the next few weeks or so.
...and I am honestly going to try to post more often. I promise. (its truly sad that I have no archive for the entire month of April).
